Sullivan+Strumpf was founded in 2005 by co-directors Ursula Sullivan and Joanna Strumpf. Based in Sydney, the gallery represents established and emerging artists and artist estates from across the Asia-Pacific and East Asia. It presents a program of diverse exhibitions, publications and talks, and is involved in international art fairs spanning Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. Sullivan+Strumpf has fostered the careers of significant contemporary artists in the region and remains dedicated to supporting artists to realise their visions and forge long-term artistic careers.
At the Melbourne Design Fair, Sullivan+Strumpf will present the work of three female Australian artists: Sanné Mestrom, Natalya Hughes and Kirsten Coelho. Each artist uses design as a means of exploring materiality, architecture and form and the representation of women in canonical modernist paintings.
